Gridiron writers have proven both prophetic and worthy of imitation. Here are some examples: Spring 1994: The show predicts that columnist Jay Mariotti's career would foul out. Fall 1994: Mariotti has a well-publicized fit and his career fouls out. Spring 1993: Using the title "Make Room for Danny," the show depicts then-Rep. Dan Rostenkowski ending his career amid a swirl of allegations of misdeeds. Fall 1994:Rostenkowski, now under indictment, has his political career ended by a swirl of allegations of misdeeds. Spring 1993: The show depicts newly-elected Senator Carol Moseley-Braun as ineffectual and selfish. Spring 1994: Fresh-person Senator Carol Moseley-Braun proves herself ineffectual and selfish.
