With 189 member countries, staff from more than 170 countries, and offices in over 130 locations, the World Bank Group is a unique global partnership: five institutions working for sustainable solutions that reduce poverty and build shared prosperity in developing countries. Recent renovations at their headquarters involved several newly furnished event spaces, including a computer training room, multi-purpose conference rooms, and 300-person training room.
The multi-purpose conference rooms are specially designed to allow flexible furniture orientation and include video conferencing with simultaneous language interpretation.
The large (300-person) training room features an enclosed operator console booth, and two interpretations booths, both with a glass partition overlooking the meeting space. Careful consideration of sightlines and ceiling coordination allowed a short stage and multiple 98-inch displays around the room for flexibility, all in a below-grade space with low ceilings.
